Porsche 968 Turbo RS Replica

This car is in the process of being built to compete in Britcar 2010 and June 2009 has seen it almost completed.  The design brief consisted of 1300kgs maximum weight, 350 minimum horsepower, must handle well and be capable of winning class P1 in the Britcar championship.

Here's how we've done it so far -

  • Chassis, full EMC welded shell multipoint safety devices roll cage
  • Gaz remote reservoir shocks
  • 4 pot callipers, Alcon 380mm vented discs, semi floating bells
  • 18" x 9" Rays forged RE37 race wheels
  • 5 speed uprated turbo transaxle with Kaaz LSD 1.5 way
  • 3 litre, 8 valve engine - steel liners, Carrillo rods, Arias pistons, stainless valves, MLS head gasket, 2 stage waste gate, Garret T4 turbo, 360 bearings, twin oil coolers and alloy radiator intercooler.

All of this gives a maximum projected horsepower of 448 @ 5900 rpm with 1.2 bar boost/340bhp @ 5400 rpm with 0.8 bar.

Still looking for a sponsorship deal which is proving difficult with current credit crunch.  Keeping fingers crossed but being realistic if someone has 68,000 handy for running the car in 2010 then they could race it themselves.
